Hi Friends!
At this time I am pausing custom cookie orders. I’m so excited, my cookie cutter and content business is taking off and keeping me busy. So at this time I’m not taking new custom orders.
If you’d like to reach out to see if I can squeeze you in, please email me at cookies@theflourshoppecookieco,com.
Otherwise, watch my social media for updates and presales.
Thank you for all your love and support!
XO, Lindsay
Here’s some answers to some of our most frequently asked questions!
How far in advance do I need to book with you?
I open booking by month. You can see what months I’m booking at the top of my website. I usually book up at least two months in advance. If you need cookies within two weeks of your inquiry, I charge a $25 rush fee per dozen.
How do I confirm my order?
I take a $50 retainer to hold the date. Until that retainer is received, the date is not reserved. Unfortunately, if we’re waiting to hear back from you and another customer inquires and pays their retainer, and we don’t have additional availability that week, we won’t be add on additional orders. I take between 8-10 dozen cookies/3-5 orders per week and those can book up very quickly. So if you know you want to book, please let us know quickly!
What if I don’t see the theme or style I want on your website?
That’s okay! I try not to repeat sets of cookies and want everyone to have cookies, especially made and designed for them. Send me photos of cookies you like or better yet, send me photos of nurseries, invitations, florals, etc. so I can match with your theme. My favorite sets are born from being inspired by things other than cookies!
How long do the cookies stay fresh?
If stored correctly, the cookies will stay fresh for at least 10 days (although I’ve had multiple people keep them fresh and soft for longer.) You can also freeze them for up to 3 months. To Freeze: place in an airtight container and then into freezer. Then to defrost, take the container out of the freezer and leave on your counter until defrosted. Then open and consume as normal!
Do you have a cookie cutter to match my theme?
Yes! Okay, maybe not yet, but I have a 3-D printer and can create cutters to match any and every theme you can dream up! And I can also do designs on plaque (basic shape) cutters as well. Custom cutters may incur an additional charge.
Can you match my color scheme?
I will do my best! I can’t guarantee an exact match but I will get as close as possible. Colors can skew from phone and computer monitors to real life. For the best color match, if you can get me a swatch or invitation in person, that would be the best.
How are your cookies packaged?
Every cookie is individually packaged and heat sealed for freshness. They last up to 10 days if stored in a cool, dry area.
Where are you located? Are you a retail store?
• We are located off 114th and Fort in Omaha, Nebraska. I am a home based Cottage Bakery. Which means I’m registered with the state of Nebraska and follow the laws of a cottage bakery. My kitchen is not inspected by the health department, but I am required to have a food handlers license and follow all safety and cleanliness standards.
Are your cookies allergy friendly?
Unfortunately not. Although I don’t use nuts in our cookies, we do use them in our kitchen. I do wheat, gluten, dairy, and eggs in our recipe. If you have a dietary restriction that is not allergy related, I can most likely altar our recipe to accommodate you.
Why are your cookies so expensive?
These cookies take so much time! And to me, they’re tiny works of art. Decorating a single cookie, averages about 10 minutes for me. So two hours a dozen. And some designs can take 15-20+ minutes each. And, that doesn’t include the invoicing and responding to emails, planning out the designs, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, making the dough, making the frosting, coloring and bagging the frosting, or packaging the cookies. And by then my kitchen is a mess again so it needs to be cleaned ;) So total time for a dozen cookies is around 4-6 hours. Crazy right?!? Yes, the cookies are expensive. But they are so much more than a frosted cookie. They’re decor and details to help make your event a little extra special.
Can I cancel my order?
Your retainer holds your place for the week that you booked. If you reschedule within 2 weeks, I can transfer your retainer based on my availability. If you need to cancel within 2 the two week period and the date is not available or you do not wish to rebook, the $25 retainer is forfeited.
